The stories..though horrifying are true stories that depict what most women are passing through (silently or loudly) in the arms of men that were meant to love them. It was an eye opener for me. Many of the women recognized the abuse early on before the wedding...especially the first lady. Sadly, they walked in, expecting things to change. The writer did her best to describe the horrific details associated with the different stories. It was well written except it had no page numbers. I completed reading it in three hours. It was that captivating.

The harsh scary realities of violence against women stare at you in the face in this beautifully woven story. I simply love the writing style, however as well written as it was, this poignant novel was not a relaxing read for me but forces one to take a closer look at the questions surrounding gender violence.
I look forward to other books by the author but not as intense please!

Good book, good read

This is a good book for all women to read especially young Nigerian girls many of whom grew up in households and environments surrounded by men dominating, intimidating and berating women and thus may not realize until it's too late that this is unacceptable behavior and must be avoided in their future.
